KEOWEE CHAMBER MUSIC

River Guerguerian (percussion) born in Canada to Armenian-Egyptian parents, has performed internationally for 25 years with jazz, classical, middle Eastern, Latin, rock and reggae groups. He has recorded on over 120 albums and film soundtracks! He lives in Asheville, NC.

Amy Brucksch (guitar) began playing in 2nd grade and classical guitar in 4th grade. She taught guitar at the University of Toledo (OH) for 18 years and has traveled throughout the US and Canada as a soloist and chamber musician. She plays a guitar made especially for her. Amy lives in Tryon, NC.

Kate Steinbeck (flute) began playing in junior high school in Western North Carolina. She was a Fulbright scholar to Belgium, studying at the Royal Conservatory in Liège and later spent several years performing and teaching in Germany. Kate also lives in Asheville. She and Amy have just released a new CD together!

CHARLOTTE SALSA DANCE

Wendy Jimenez (dancer) is from El Salvador. She performs and teaches Latin dance in the Charlotte area and was a featured cast member in the movie La Epoca. She and Rodrigo live in Charlotte, NC.

Rodrigo Jimenez (dancer), originally from Chile, began performing flamenco dance at an early age. He has toured throughout the US, Europe and South America. A 1st place medal winner in Latin American dance competitions, he owns and teaches at two dance studios.

CUARTETO LA CATRINA

Daniel Vega-Albela (1st violin) is from Mexico City and won a medal in a national violin competition at age 15. He came to New York City when he was 16 to continue violin studies. He has played with many orchestras and chamber music groups in the US and Mexico.

Blake Espy ( 2nd violin) is from Savannah, GA and started violin at age 6. He has played with many orchestras in the US and Mexico, and is a concertmaster with the New World Symphony in Miami, FL.

Alan Daowz (violoncello) was born in Mexico City and has studied and performed in the US and Mexico. He has taught at the Conservatorio de las Rosas Summer Music Festival.

Jorge Martinez (viola) is from Mexico where he graduated with honors from the Conservatorio de las Rosas. He received an award from the Department of Public Education of Mexico in 2001, and came to the US to study at Western Michigan University.

The members of the quartet all live in New Mexico! They have come a long way to play for you!
