Huapango

HuapangoAll the musicians and dancers will come together for the finale, Huapango, by Mexican composer José Pablo Moncayo.

The Huapango is a lively Mexican dance of Spanish origin popular along the Gulf of Mexico. This Huapango uses the melodies of three Mexican folk dances: El Siquisiri, El Balaju, and El Gavilán (The Hawk).

It is so popular that it is called “Mexico’s Second National Anthem”. You will hear the percussionist take the lead using different instruments.

Did you hear the mariachi yell at the end?
